    Amazing And Creepy Animation.

Saw this video on the Collide Magazine blog.  Pretty crazy digital animation.  I like the “wireframe” they show in the very last couple of seconds.  Amazing and creepy at the same time.

    Dropbox.

Dropbox is a new web-based storage and sharing application that is still in beta.  It’s a pretty nifty little tool that could probably be used a number of different capacities. You can use it to back up data, share files with the public and even specify people with access to certain areas of your file system.  I have invites, so if you’re interested in trying out the beta version, let me know.

    Photoshop CS4.

I’m pretty excited to find out when Adobe plans to release the newest version of Photoshop.  From what I understand, there are a ton of new features that are being leaked around the web, one of which is related to the visual interface and working with multiple documents.

Here’s a sneak peek at working with Tabs and N-Up features within the new version, VERY COOL!!!

    Lesson Learned.

Last night, I spent the better part of the evening, approximately 5 hours, trying to recover lost data. And you say to yourself, “Lost data? Whever do you mean?!” Well… yesterday afternoon, I accidentally deleted a folder full of files that consisted of about 3-4 months worth of design work. Apparently, I thought I copied it to a new location, and I thought I was just deleting the shortcut, as it turns out… I deleted the entire mass of data. After 5+ hours of trying to recover the data, alas… it is gone for good. So I’ve learned my lesson, and a hard one to learn indeed, back your data up. Don’t ask why I hadn’t backed that stuff up yet, I’ve already asked myself that over and over and over again in the past 18 hours. As frustrating and heartbreaking as this may be, I’m actually in better shape than I thought I would be - the work can be recreated, and there were only 2 really significant projects that I’m really bummed about.

So I’ve learned my lesson, and I will implement some kind of back-up strategy for my projects. It could be worse….
